BLACK FRIDAY

We were "those" people this year. We went to the mall at 11pm on Thanksgiving night. That's the first and last time I think I'll ever do that. It was Bananas out there..Can't believe people do that every year. So we heard the mall across the street from us was gonna open at 11pm, we headed over there at about 10:30pm and figured we would be cool. We got there and it wasn't bad but at about 10:45 people were lining up and it started getting super crowded. They opened the doors at 11 at Saks and everybody rushed in the store like mad people! I cannot shop with crowds, I get really annoyed and irritated by rude people bumping into you and taking stuff out of your hands etc. I got a few things but by the time 1 o'clock rolled around I was over it! Here are a few pics I snapped of the madness...

Got there at 10:35pm!

WHO SAYS BIBS ARE ONLY FOR BABIES?

One trend I'm still really feeling right now is the Bib Necklace. It's so stylish and can spice up any outfit. It can be worn either casually or dressy, day or night. Actually they look better when worn with just jeans and a tee. But also real sexy with a simple dress for going out on the town or to a nice event. The bib is an absolute statement piece. The best part about them is they can be purchased at every price point. You can find them at Forever 21 starting at $6 to Jcrew at $150 etc. Who says bibs are only for babies? Ladies can wear them now too and look darn sexy while they're doing so!

NEW YORK STATE OF MIND

Went to NY back in September. The weather was per pretty much throughout the whole trip. I had never been to NY when the weather was nice so It was a cool change to not have to rock my snorkel Haha. That's what New Yorkers call parkas or puff coats =) Anyways we were only there for 4 days but from the minute we landed (took the red eye) we were on the go!  Dropped our bags off at the telly and headed straight to 5th Ave for some shopping and Rockefeller Center to take some pics. Only got about an hour and a 1/2 to 2 hrs of sleep in on the plane so we were pretty much running on adrenaline. As soon as we got back to the hotel we were starving so you know we had to get  a NY slice from Ray's.

San Jose we have arrived!

In the cab on the way to Manhattan lookin' real greasy faced...

Rooms were pretty big for New York rooms

Couldn't wait had to take a bite! Pizza was off the chain

After we had our slice we took a short nap and got ready to go out to dinner with some friends of ours that live in Staten Island son! They came and picked us up from Manhattan and took us to this Italian spot in Nolita forget the name of it but it was really good!

After a long, exhausting but productive 1st day we headed back to our room and knocked out! Slept like a baby it felt sooo good!!!! Didn't wanna wake up the next morning but we had another exciting day to look forward to. Spent our whole 2nd day in SOHO, did some shopping, a lot of walking and guess what we ate??? Yup....more pizza! From another fave spot "Two Boots". They're pizza is like Cajun style pizza all kinds of crazy flavors and spices...in one word BOMB! When we were done shopping we headed back to Manhattan hit up another new fave of mine Dylan's Candy Bar and of course the Sanrio store. Went back to the room and changed for dinner. Ate at this Cuban spot called Cafe Habana on Prince Street back near SOHO. They are known for their corn on the cob slathered with mayo, cheese and powdered chile peppers and lime juice. You have to try it if you're ever in NY. We go there everytime.

Shopping in SOHO...Love the street vendors!

Went back to the room, hungout and goofed around taking pics. Ate some of our Dylan's candy then headed back out to walk around T-Square. It got a lil chilly but not bad at all. Still was able to roll out in a cardi and scarf. That place is poppin 24-7 it's crazy! It literally is the City that Never sleeps....

Day 3- Hit up Magnolia's Bakery for the 2nd time. Forgot to mention the 1st time to you. Took some cupcakes over to our friends baby shower. Had to stop by 47th St. The Diamond district before catching the Ferry for you know who. The shower was in Staten Island so we had to take the Ferry over there. It was pretty cool. There are so many people that take the Ferry on a daily. Some even take it for work to Manhattan everyday. The best part about the Ferry ride is it's free and you get some Tourist shots while you're on it! After spending a few hours at the shower we had dinner plans with another friend that lives out in Brooklyn with his fiance. We ate at some Thai spot in Meatpacking.

Hmmm...I'll take 1 of each!

Our Last day it rained. Good thing we were prepared. We packed our rain coats, beenies, etc. We decided to head back to SOHO and do some more shopping since we hadn't done any damage the first 3 days there. We were good, didn't spend much money just hung out and visited with friends. This was our last full day so we said why not spend the whole day doing what we do best. HAhah Shop! Stopped by Ray's to grab a slice one last time before we headed out to jump on the train back to Prince. I swear I can eat NY pizza all day every day. After SOHO the weather cleared up so we decided to go to Central Park and take a walk through there. Later that evening had our last NY dinner at a dope spot called SushiSamba. It's a Latin/Asian restaurant and the food was so good!

Our real last day in NY was beautiful. It was like 70 something degrees! We decided to take a walk by Bryant Park better known for their tents they set up every Spring and Fall for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. It was so relaxing. People just hang out, have lunch and read books when the weather is nice like that. We chilled for a min took some pics then headed to "Top of the Rock" above the Rockefeller building where you can see all of NY and the views are breathtaking. Met with one of Chris' old co-workers that now lives in NY and he took us to lunch at a cool Korean BBQ joint. After lunch headed to the airport ready to hop on our plane back home. This trip was one of our best trips to NY hands down. We did so much in the short time we were there. We visited with friends, had great meals, shopped, did some sight seeing. What more could you ask for? I LOVE NY!!!!
